Good Read!

Today, while I should have been working (oops! Hehe!), I stumbled into a website called GoodReadscom. The site bring book lovers together in a facebook style community!!! You have to know that I am very excited about this new discovery! I do like facebook with it's ablility to see old friends and stay in touch with out of town family, but it's really starting to bore me! In the last few years, I have really fallen in love with reading! As a student, I hated reading books for school. I just never felt a connection to the books my teachers chose. As an adult, I have the ability to find books that I have an interest in without anyone telling me what and what not to read!

Well Good Reads gives me the ability to bring my love for books into discussions with others who have the same love! The site has trivia, book groups, ability to share your own voice on your own profile, invite friends and meet new friends who, in my case, have a love for Twilight or Janet Evanovich books!!

I've started setting up my profile already! I've added and rated the books I have already read! I can swap books with others who may want what I've read and have what I want! I can keep track of the books I still want to read and even keep them in a particular order!! My current book is Eat,Pray,Love. I've been told it's a book that every woman should read! I'm only about 100 pages in and I totally agree!!! I am not one to normally read non-fiction but this book is great! So if you have a chance, go out and get it! I think it will be worth it!

If you are a book lover or just would like a site to visit for book reviews, Good Reads.com is the place! Please visit and if you find me, Add me as a friend!

Here's my profile link!

New Background

Found a new background this morning?

What do you think? I'm still trying to find a true direction for my blog theme. I'm not sure this is a perfect fit but it's cute for now!

Along with finding the perfect background, I am also trying to find the direction I want to go with the blog and topics. I want everything to be unified. So there are things going on now with my life that will control this...So right now it's just a waiting game. Hopefully, in the meantime I'll have topics and thoughts that I will want to share with you.

Until then, I came across this website today....Should put a smile on your face!

Embrace Today!

I came across a website today titled, Intent.com. Mostly this is a website where people, meditation, and blogs come together. Well the site asks the question, "What is your intent today?". This got me thinking about my day and what I want to accomplish. I realized I have been tired and bored of my work since I've walked in the door at. All day I have been wishing that 5 O'clock would hurry the hell up!

So I decided that my intent for the day would be to "Embrace today and stop wishing it away!" It seems too often I catch myself doing this. Whether it's wishing for 5 o'clock to roll around or to be home already or for Friday to finally come. I know I'm not the only one out here in this big 'ole world that does this. Why do we do this to ourselves?!?!?

So here and now, I am embracing this day, while I'm at work, and I will live in this moment. The moments we have in this one life can fly by right in front of our noses! I know I don't want to look back and regret missing an opportunity or memory because I was already consumed with the next weekend's plans! Life is a gift we each get and every day and we should be surprised with each sunrise that no one is guaranteed. Although, the old palm reader in Key West once told me I would live a very long life, so I guess I'm good. :) Nonetheless, I want to embrace my life and enjoy every moment I have here. I want to be able to remember the people I share my days with and all the little things that sneak right by so easily.

I hope this awakens your senses to the world that you are wishing by as well. As my yoga instructor always says, "Make sure you are present in the room!". Be present in the day and make the most out of each and every one you are given!

Embrace Away!

Day of Reflecting on Inspiration

So today I am feeling a little inspirational! My husband has a phone interview for a great job today and I spent last night trying to inspire him and have just continued that feeling through today as I wait to hear how it went!

We watched an inspirational movie last night, Mr.Holland's Opus. It was a great movie that neither one of us had seen before and we really were inspired (mission accomplished!!!). If you haven't seen it, it's a must see in my book. And even better, the city where the movie takes place...It just tied everything together without us even realizing. Coincidence? Only time will tell.

I also cooked us dinner, not a big thing to many but in our house, this was Huge! :) I cooked my mom's famous chicken casserole. Dustin loves when I make this because it's so undeniably yummy! And I had to add fresh corn on the cob for the fun of it!

So continuing on with the inspiration for my husband, I've gathered a few great quotes that are both motivational and inspirational. I was moved by a few of these and really wanted to share for Dustin and any one else who is reading that may need a little kick-in-the-butt, pick-me-up!
So enjoy and I hope you get something out of these! Sorry there are no authors, I wasn't planning on using these here. :)

- If you do not hope,
you will not find what is beyond your hopes.

- First say to yourself what you would be;
then do what you have to do.

- They can because they think they can.

- The thing always happens that you really believe in;
and the belief in a thing makes it happen.

- So often times it happens that we live our lives in chains
And we never even know we have the key.

- Do not anticipate trouble, or worry about what may never happen.
Keep in the sunlight.

- If your ship doesn't come in, swim out to it.

- The pessimist see difficulty in every opportunity.
The optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.

- Luck is when opportunity knocks and you answer.

Now go...Be inspired!!!
